Journées des Jeunes Chercheurs en Acoustique Physiques presentation

The Journées Jeunes Chercheurs d'Acoustique Physiques (JJCAP), created in 2019 by former PhD students, federates research carried out by apprentice researchers in this field. The aim is to bring together doctoral and post-doctoral students to discuss their theoretical, numerical simulation and experimental work. This year, the organizers would like to extend the discussion to cross-disciplinary topics that are also important for apprentice researchers. Indeed, the job of a thesis is not only to bring the research subject to a successful conclusion, but also to prepare for the next stage of one's career.

On Thursday October 26 and Friday October 27, 2023, the JJCAP organizing committee is therefore organizing a conference for doctoral students in the form of presentations and poster sessions. The aim of the conference is to encourage exchanges and promote the sharing of experience between doctoral and post-doctoral students.

For this 2nd edition, the topics covered will revolve around :

1 - Non-destructive testing ;

2- Imaging ;

3 - Underwater acoustics ;

4- Complex environments ;

5 - Opto-acoustics ;

6- Dynamic homogenization ;

7- Non-linear waves ;

8 - Guided propagation;

We invite PhD students from different fields to share their work, regardless of wavelength or frequency bandwidth.

Practical information

Participants will be welcomed on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 9am. The scientific days will take place on the Université de Bordeaux campus in Talence (Peixoto campus), at the Domaine du Haut-Carré. To ensure team cohesion, a convivial evening will be organized for less formal exchanges over sound waves and refreshments. The conference will resume the following day, concluding at lunchtime. The JJCAP schedule is presented in the Program section.

Places are limited to 50 participants. Catering, coffee breaks and part of the extra-scientific activities will be financed by the association. On the other hand, accommodation and travel arrangements will be the responsibility of the participant.

We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Since the Covid years, we (doctoral students) need to rediscover our social/scientific and cultural cohesion, well beyond the walls of our laboratories. The ties that bind us must be the driving force that brings us together. In the near future, we'll be communicating together, traveling together, working together at conferences. That's why we're organizing this meeting, to strengthen the ties that will make us the researchers of tomorrow.
